KARACHI, Nov 16: The Patients Welfare Association, a non- political non-governmental organization, run solely by students of the Dow Medical College, on Saturday stated that it had no connection with the Patients’ Welfare Fund.

A press release here said that the PWA worked as an independent entity within the precincts of the Civil Hospital, Karachi.

“Our association generates funds independently through various fund-raising activities and every penny is accounted for in our annual audit, which is declared publicly every year and is available to anyone who wishes to investigate it.”

The press release added that the PWA had not been asked by any government agency to clarify its expenses.—Staff Reporter
