PESHAWAR, Nov 2: Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Ejaz Afzal Khan on Wednesday launched the court’s Judicial Estacode-2011.

The book, which is second and enlarged edition, consists of instructions, directives, notifications and rules spreading over a period of more than a century and dealing with the service matters and judicial work of the high and district court judges.

Additional Registrar (Administration) PHC Niaz Muhammad Khan compiled the book whose first edition was published in 2006.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief justice appreciated the Estacode compiler’s work and said it would be beneficial to both the bench and the bar as a reference book.

Mr. Niaz apprised participants of the book’s salient features and referred to a new section ‘job description of judicial officers and staff of district judiciary’, saying it will help judges and staff know their duties well and perform them efficiently resulting in better institutional performance.

On this occasion Qammar Sohail Lodhi, secretary to the PHC chief justice, highlighted the compilation of 1,000 judgments of Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan for the information of the bench and bar at the high court and subordinate courts.

The chief justice later awarded certificate of commendation to Mr Niaz and Mr Qamar for their work.

The function was attended by judges and judicial officers of the high court, advocate general, additional advocates general, deputy attorneys general, president and general secretary of high court bar association.
