QUETTA, Oct 28: A judicial magistrate has issued the arrest warrants for former president Pervez Musharraf and former prime minister Shaukat Aziz in the Akbar Bugti murder case.

Magistrate Faisal Hameed accepted on Friday a written request by the crimes branch to issue the arrest warrants for both the accused nominated in the FIR lodged with Dera Bugti police.

The crimes branch had obtained from the court on Oct 8 the arrest warrant for MPA Mir Shoaib Nausherwani, a former home minister of Balochistan.

Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti, the elder son of the late Baloch nationalist leader, has also nominated in the FIR former governor Owais Ahmed Ghani, former chief minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf and former federal minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao.

The provincial government had constituted an investigation committee headed by the crimes branch director to investigate the case.

Dera Bugti police had registered the FIR on the orders of the Balochistan High Court.

When the high court was informed on Oct 12 about the warrant for Mir Nausherwani, the chief justice asked about the warrants against the other accused. The next hearing is scheduled for Nov 1.

Nawab Bugti was killed in a military action in the mountains of Dera Bugti on Aug 26, 2006.
