QUETTA, Oct 16: Senior journalist and resident editor of daily Jang Quetta, Akhtar Mirza, died of cardiac arrest late on Saturday night, family sources said.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

Mirza complained of heart pain and was rushed to hospital where he died, the sources said.

Funeral prayers were held at the Cantonment graveyard on Sunday where he was buried.

Office-bearers of the Quetta Press Club and Balochistan Union of Journalists have expressed deep sorrow over Mirza’s death.
