KHAIRPUR, Oct 10: Four members of a family were killed in an attack in Katchi abadi of Ranipur.

Reports said that eight unidentified armed men entered the house of one Qadir Bux Narejo at about 1am on Sunday night and opened fire on the sleeping inmates.

Two inmates identified as Sadaruddin, 40, and Ms Marvi, 35, died on the spot and one-year-old baby Rozina, Suhno, 8, Qadir Bux, Waheed Narejo, 8, and another were injured.

The injured were rushed to the Civil Hospital of Khairpur where Rozina and Suhno succumbed to their injuries.

Rozina is said to be daughter of slain Marvi who was wife of injured Qadir Bux. The bodies were handed over to relatives after post-mortem.

Police said that other injured admitted to a hospital in Gambat were out of danger. No case was lodged till filing of this report.

According to Ranipur police, the family migrated to the katchi abadi one year ago because of a dispute with the Jatoi community.

In another incident, a young woman and her brother-in-law were killed in Gambat town on Sunday morning. Six unidentified armed men entered the house of one Ali Nawaz Sehto and opened fire on the inmates, killing Ms Naeema, wife of Ali Nawaz Sehto and her brother-in-law Mohammad Nawaz Sehto and injuring Rab Nawaz, 13, (another brother-in-law of the woman).

According to Gambat police, the woman married Ali Nawaz Sehto on her free will one year ago in Kot Mir Mohammad and they moved to Gambat town where they were living in a rented house.—Correspodent
