CHARSADDA, Oct 7: The Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti on Friday announced a development package for KP-21 constituency, including establishment of a girls degree college in Shabqadar.

He announced this while addressing a rally at FC ground Shabqadar on the occasion of inaugurating Battagram-Kharki road and completion of the tehsil headquarters hospital.

The road would be built at a cost of Rs250million, while Rs190 million have been spent on the construction of the hospital.

The announced package also included construction of a 10km road from Sherpao to Shamsabad costing over Rs130 million, upgradation of schools, establishment of new schools and community health centres, construction of roads, construction of Bacha Khan park at Shabqadar, establishment of science and computer laboratories in schools, construction of additional rooms in schools, bridges, electrification and sanitation works.

Mr Hoti said work on Dildar Garhi bridge would commence within two months at Rs420 million.

The chief minister said Rs30 million had been approved for Tangi left canal irrigation scheme which will be completed in the current year.

He said reconstruction of flood-damaged Munda Headworks would be completed by March next year at a cost of Rs550million.

The CM said the system at the Munda Headworks, which was extensively damaged in last year's flash floods, was temporarily revived at a cost of Rs170 million.

He said reconstruction of eight gates of the headworks and much wider bridges for traffic would be completed in due time, adding a staff colony and a patrol road were also part of the project.

Mr Hoti said the Awami National Party believed in resolving masses' problems instead of hollow slogans, adding, fulfilling mission of Khudai Khidmatgar Bacha Khan was top priority of his government.

He said his coalition government had not only accomplished objectives of party manifesto but also realised promises made with the people in connection with development of Pakhtun soil.

Mr Hoti said the people will feel pleasant change in their lives upon completion of these welfare projects and economic activities will increase in Charsadda district.

He said that rehabilitation of flood victims was the responsibility of the government and second phase of compensation to flood victims through Watan Cards had commenced.
