RAWALPINDI, Sept 26:  An expatriate was deprived of 35,000 Norwegian krone, 100, 000 rupees and travel documents by robbers posing themselves as policemen on way to his native town from Benazir Bhutto International Airport, police said on Monday.

Abdul Munir, the robbery victim said he was on way to his native town in Taxila from the airport on reaching from Norway when a car, in which two persons in police uniform were traveling, blocked his way near the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).

He said the occupants of the car got out, pulled him over and asked him for a search, introducing themselves as cops.

He said he was unable to realise that it was not the real police. However, the robbers snatched 100,000 rupees, 35,000 krones and travel documents from him and escaped.

Meanwhile, nine women of a family who were going to attend a wedding diner in Dhoke Hukamdad were robbed of gold jewellery by two unidentified gunmen in broad daylight on Monday.

Zamir Hussain, one of the members of the family said in his complaint that nine women of his family were going to attend a wedding party of their relative when two unidentified men on a motorbike intercepted them in the street and looted them at gunpoint.
