TAXILA, Sept 22: Huge quantity of explosive material was recovered by National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) from a deserted place on the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M-1) near Burhan Interchange on Thursday.

Umar Shoaib Ejaz, spokesman for the NHMP said that Patrolling Officer Mohammad Khalid and Patrolling Officer Haroon Ahmed were on routine patrolling when they spotted some material lying on the side of the motorway.

On search, the police officials found 199 bars of explosive material weighing 10 kg, 500 detonators of D-49 type and 1,250 meter detonator wire.—Correspondent
