Five policemen sacked

ATTOCK, Sept 9: Five police officials were dismissed from service for their involvement in different illegal activities by district police officer on Friday.

Two other police officials were also suspended for serious misconduct while one-year service of   SHOs of seven police stations was forfeited for showing negligence in their duties.

The district police headquarters said that DPO Dr Muhammad Akhtar Abbass sacked SI Kamal Hussain Shah and ASI Sadaqat Ali of Attock Khurd police station for misappropriating 140 kg hashish from the Malkhana (store room) of the police station as they were found guilty in the departmental inquiry. Both the officials had earlier been suspended from their services.

Such as, ASI Imtiaz Hussain of Rangu police station was dismissed from the service for his involvement in drug peddling.

He had earlier been demoted to the rank of ASI from SI for showing negligence in the investigation of a murder case. Similarly, two constables, Adnan Riaz and Hasnain Hydar, of Hattar police check post were also sacked on the charges of corruption.

Likewise, SHO Injra police station Inspector Ghulam Shabir and SI Nazir Ahmed were suspended on faulty investigation of an important case. Moreover, one-year service of seven SHOs including Inspectors Israr Ahmed Satti, Iftikhar Ahmed, Malik Saad Anwar, Urangzaib Khan, Rifat Mehmood Bhatti, Aqeel Abbass and Ghulam Shabir and SI Azhar Ali Shah of Attock city, Attock Saddar, Attock Khurd, Hasanabdal, New Airport, Pindigheb and Bahtar police stations respectively was forfeited for showing negligence in the arrest of wanted proclaimed offenders (POs).

Meanwhile, the DPO appointed Inspector Asif Abbass Shah as SHO Injra police station with immediate effect.
