LAHORE, Aug 15: A 50-year-old woman was killed in a shooting incident occurred between two groups in Ghulam Bhatti Colony near Bank Stop, Chungi Amar Sidhu, on Sunday.

Kot Lakhpat police shifted the body to Jinnah Hospital for autopsy.

Quoting witnesses, the police said members of Arshad Gujjar and Mittu groups traded fire over some dispute in Ghulam Bhatti Colony. Rehmat Bibi, who was standing at her doorstep, received a bullet fired by a member of Arshad Gujjar group and died instantly.

Members of both sides fled the scene.

The police have received an application for the registration of a case.

PRISONER DIES: A 45-year-old prisoner of Camp Jail died of a protracted illness at Services Hospital on Monday.

Shadman police said Qaiser of Garhi Shaho, who was facing trial in connection with a theft case registered with the Garhi Shaho police, was admitted to the hospital with a complaint of Tuberculosis on Aug 9.

The police handed over the body to the family after autopsy.
