NAUSHAHRO FEROZE/ NAWABSHAH, Aug 9: Four children, suspected to be suffering from dengue fever, have been admitted to People's Medical College Hospital (PMCH) in Nawabshah.

Belonging to Gulzar Lashari Village near Lakha Road, they were brought to Civil Hospital in Naushahro Feroze on Monday.

Engineeran 7, Azhar 5, Shakir Ali, 3, and Asif Ali 9, daughter and sons of Misri Khan Lashari, fell ill on Sunday night and, after few hours, started bleeding from their mouth and stomach.

They were taken to a local doctor who referred them to the Taluka Hospital of Kandiaro from where they were shifted to the Civil Hospital.

The Civil Surgeon, Dr Abdul Qadir Panhwar, feared that the children might have contracted Congo or dengue.He said that blood samples of the patients had been sent to laboratory.

Later, the children were referred to PMCH Nawabshah, he added.

They might have contracted the disease from their mother who was ill since Monday.

According to Dr Ashiq Lashari of the PMCH, condition of the patients was stable. Blood samples of the children, he said, had been sent to a Karachi-based laboratory for confirmation of the disease.
