PESHAWAR, Aug 8: Five people, including a woman, were killed in parts of the provincial metropolis on Monday, police said.

An official of Badbher police station said Arshad Khan was shot dead and his wife Zeenat was injured when a group of dacoits broke into their house at Badbher early on Monday. The couple, he said, had married just two weeks ago.

The deceased, Arshad, also retaliated to the fire and killed one of the dacoits, identified as Naheed Khan of the same locality. The official said another dacoit, Kifayat, who escaped from the scene, was later killed allegedly by relatives of his accomplice, Naheed Khan.

“He was on way to home when relatives of the deceased attacked him for making Naheed to commit the robbery”, the official added.

The woman was shifted to Lady Reading Hospital in serious condition.

In the same case police registered another FIR against the murder of Kifayat on the complaint of Zahid Khan. The complainant said Kifayat was shot dead by unidentified people while on way home.
