KARACHI, July 31: Two suspected bandits who had allegedly shot dead a man during a robbery and were fleeing after the incident were killed in an “encounter” with police who intercepted the bandits within the remit of the Gulshan-i-Maymar police station on Sunday.

The police claimed that the two unidentified suspects were killed in the “encounter” when they were fleeing after shooting at a Pakistan People’s party activist, Mohammad Hasan Brohi, who resisted them during the robbery.Mr Borohi got wounded in the firing and died.

Earlier, the suspects had allegedly also robbed another man, Advocate Akbar Ali, near a water park in Gulshan-i-Maymar.

The police claimed to have recovered two TT pistols, one motorcycle and looted cash and valuables from them.

APC attacked A police armoured personnel carrier was attacked with crackers by unidentified men in Bukhari Colony in Orangi Town on Sunday night.

However, no casualty or damage was reported in the incident, SSP West Asif Ajaz said, adding that crackers were used in the attack on the APC.
