Abbottabad, Charsadda win

PESHAWAR, Nov 1: Government Girls College, Abbottabad, No 1 entered into next round beating Government Girls College, Haripur, in the Inter-college (Degree) Badminton Championship which began at Qayyium Khan indoor hall Friday.

Sixteen affiliated colleges with the University of Peshawar are participating in the championship. Government Girls College Mardan are defending the title.

Results: GCC, Abbottabad, bt GGC Haripur 3-0. GCC (Abbottabad names first). Farda bt Tahir 11-7, 5-11, 11-8, 11-7; Asma bt Sadaf by 11-9, 11-7 11-9; Farda and Rashda bt Tahira and Sadaf 15-12, 15-10 and 15-13.

Government Girls Degree College, Charsadda, beat Khyber Medical College 3-0 (GGDC, Charsadda names first): Husna bt Hida Malik 11-5, 11-9, 11-7; Nayab Khan bt Fatima Iqbal 11-4, 11-6, 11-9, Husna and Nayab bt Fatima Iqbal and Hadia Malik 15-12, 15-13, 15-9.—APP
