KARACHI, July 21: Formidable Karachi won the Sindh Inter-district men’s basketball championship by chalking up a convincing 65-38 victory over Mirpurkhas Whites in the final played at Mohammad Medical College court on Wednesday.

The winners led 27-13 at the half time.

Karachi’s victory revolved around Talah Amjad (19), Abdullah Imam (17), Akmal Jamil (14). Talah Abid and Kazim Abbas scored four points apiece.

Ahsan top scored for losers with 13 and was ably assisted by Sher Mohammad 11 and Tariq six.

Dr. Syed Mohammad Razi, managing trustee Mohammad Foundation Trust, who graced the occasion, gave away the prizes. Amjad Ali, president of Karachi City District Basketball Association, and former international Abdul Nasir, who is also secretary of Sindh Basketball, were also present. —Sports Correspondent
