ISLAMABAD: A five-member Pakistan karate team will be participating in the 10th Asian Karate Championship from July 16-25 in China.

Pakistan will compete in five different weights comprising Baz Muhammad in 60kg, Muhammad Kashif in 55kg, Shadi Abbas in -67kg, Imtiaz Ali in -75kg and Muhammad Ramzan in -85kg.

Shamim Hashmi, Secretary, Pakistan Karate Federation, told APP on Friday that the team would hopefully produce a good result, adding that the efforts of coach Khalid Noor will prove fruitful as he has been imparting vigorous training sessions.

“The team had a tough training in both morning and evening sessions with physical exercises in the morning and fight in the evening,” he said.

Hashmi said that Pakistan qualified for the semi-final in the last 9th South Asian Karate Championship but this time he hopes that the team goes on to win it.
