SHIKARPUR, July 1: Three people fell prey to vengeance in the areas of Sultankot and Dakhan police stations on Thursday and Friday.

In the first incident, one Qalandar Bux Brohi, 60, was shot dead by four armed men when he was sitting at a hotel in Budho Buriro village in the jurisdiction of Khanpur police station on Friday.

The motive behind the murder was said to be a land dispute among groups of Brohi clan. The dispute has so far claimed four lives.

In the other incident, Akbar Ali Kehar and Ali Sher Kehar were killed when some armed men believed to be Shar tribesmen attacked them in Mian-jo-Goth village. The deceased were going to their village on a tractor from Shikarpur.

The assailants ambushed them near Sui Gas station in the jurisdiction of Sultankot police station on the Shikarpur-Jacobabad road.

The double murder is said to be an offshoot of a running dispute between Shar and Kehar tribesmen over a piece of agricultural land.

The dispute has so far claimed nine lives on both sides.

Police followed the attackers' footprints which led them to Shabeer Shar, Yaqoob Shar, Altaf Shar, Ali Nawaz Shar and others who were arrested.

Police have claimed to have found illicit arms in their possession.

In an incident of karo-kari killing, a man killed his wife in Rakhyal-je-Wandh village in the Dakhan police station area on suspicions she had illicit relations with another man.

The husband Nawaz Shar first gunned down his wife Jaamul and then went after her alleged beloved Ali Dino Shar and killed him. Afterwards, the accused surrendered to police with murder weapon.
