KARACHI, Oct 26: A middle-aged woman was found dead in her apartment in the Defence Housing Authority on Saturday.

Neighbours of Nighat Khatoon, 55, in a residential building in Phase IV, 10th Commercial Street, told the Gizri police that stench was emanating from the apartment. The police reached the spot and found Nighat in a pool of blood with several stab wounds on her body. The body was taken to a hospital for an autopsy.

The police said Nighat lived alone in her apartment and earned her livelihood by teaching the neighbours’ children. The motive for the killing could not be ascertained.

BODY FOUND: The body of an unknown man was found in the bushes at a desolated place in Mochko, the police said.
