LAHORE, June 14: Police continued crackdowns on criminals and anti-social elements on Tuesday, arresting 39 proclaimed offenders, 41 court absconders and 61 target offenders in the last couple of days, according to a police spokesman.

Police arrested 40 people and registered 32 cases against them for possessing illegal weapons.

Police registered 51 cases of narcotics and arrested 62 drug-peddlers, seizing 1.2kg heroin, 8.5kg chars, 40 kg hashish and 590 bottles of liquor from them. Police also impounded 29 motorcycles and nine vehicles for having fake registration plates.
