PML-Q leader booked in kidnap case

SAHIWAL, Oct 25: Grain Market police on Friday registered a case against the local PML-Q vice-president and his three accomplices for kidnapping a 12-year-old girl.

Malik Muhammad Yousaf along with his three masked accomplices came to the house of labourer Muhammad Sabir on Pir Bukhari Road. They held his family members hostage at gunpoint and took away his daughter Reema in a car.

A case has been registered against the accused under hudood ordinance.

The girl had earlier been kidnapped with the help of a prayer leader by Malik Yousaf and his three accomplices. However, the police had recovered Reema after two months.

ARRESTED: Civil Lines police on Friday arrested a constable/naib reader of the local DPO for lifting motorcycles from the premises of police offices.

Hamid had lifted the motorcycle of former office superintendent Muhammad Anwar. The accused made a clean breast that he had also lifted the motorcycles of office superintendent Maulvi Muhammad Ashraf and police accountant Zakir Hussain. The DPO ordered a departmental inquiry after suspending the constable.

A case has been registered against the accused.

BANNED: The Punjab government has banned the establishment of new industrial units in 15 districts.

A no objection certificate (NOC) will be needed to set up industrial units.

The districts are: Multan, Sahiwal, Muzaffargarh, Okara, Vehari, Khanewal, D.G Khan, Rajanpur, Layyah, Pakpattan, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar and Sheikhupura.

The district coordination officers have been informed for strict compliance.
