NOWSHERA, May 30: Four persons, including a police inspector, were killed and three others sustained injuries in different incidents here during the last two days.

In the first incident, a police inspector and his uncle were killed when their rivals attacked their car near Hakimabad area on Sunday.

The complainant Fakhr-i-Alam, a resident of Dari Kati Khel, told police that Malik Khalid, Fazl-i-Subhan, Aziz, Arshad, Hamid and Naveed, opened firing on them, killing inspector Haji Mohammad Irshad Khan and his uncle Arshad Hussain on the spot.

He said that his two other relatives Rashad and Raj Mohammad and he himself sustained injuries in the attack. The injured were shifted to district headquarters hospital from where they were referred to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar after providing them first aid.

Haji Irshad Khan, who was circle officer investigation, was on leave prior to retirement. Police said that they had an old enmity.

In the second incident, Noor Said was killed at Nizampur on Sunday. Dildar, Munir, Qadir, Ghufran, Jamal, Zaran Gul and Majid Gul were nominated by his relatives in the FIR.

In the third incident, a labourer identified as Mohammad Ishaq was killed in Jaba Tar coalmine here on Monday.

The 20-year labourer along with four other miners was working at the coalmine when a mysterious blast occurred. The four labourers managed to come out while Ishaq was buried in the mine. His body was retrieved from the mine after four hours.—Correspondent
