SUKKUR, May 26: General Secretary of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Jacobabad, Dr Mehtab Qureshi was killed by unidentified men while attending his private clinic on Thursday.

Reportedly, Dr Qureshi was attending his clinic in Dangar Muhalla in City police station jurisdiction when some armed persons opened fire on him. He died while being rushed to the Civil Hospital Jacobabad.

The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained immediately. Police cordoned off the area.

Doctors on receiving information gathered at the hospital while dead body was still there when the report was filed. DEMONSTRAITON:

People belonging to forestry area of Sarhad Bello, Mirpur Mathelo district Ghotki demonstrated in front of the office of Divisional Forest Officer Mirpur Mathelo on Thursday.

Reports said that Rafique Memon, Ostad Imdad Mahar, Allah Wadhayo Mahar, Manzoor Mahar and others led the protest. Protesters raised slogans in favour of their demands.

Protesters alleged the Divisional Forest Officer of ignoring local people to giving forestry land on lease but was facilitating those from other towns and even from Balochistan.

They further alleged that those leased forestry land were illegally chopping down trees and demanded of the Chief Conservator, Forest Department Hyderabad Mir Nadir Talpur to enquire into the matter.
