LAHORE, May 22: Seven people, including two brothers and a 12-year-old boy, were murdered in five incidents in the provincial capital on Sunday, police said.

Kahna police said 40-year-old Muzaffar Ali Bhatti and his friend Mushtaq Ahmad Mayo were killed when rivals of Muzaffar led by Arif Khan opened fire on them in Pandoki village.

Quoting witnesses, police said eight suspects riding cars and motorcycles reached Pandoki village and opened indiscriminate fire on Muzaffar and Mushtaq following murder litigation.

According to the first information report, complainant Munawar Ali stated that his brother Muzaffar had murdered Arif's brother Abbas sometime ago. Dawn

Model Town SP Operations Malik Muhammad Awais told that Elite Police commandoes had been dispatched to raid the residences of suspects, who belonged to Taftuh and Lalyani villages of Kasur district. He said the enmity had claimed the lives of several people from both sides.

In another incident, two brothers were killed after unidentified car-rides approached them on Kasur Road and sprayed them with bullets in City Raiwind police precincts. Rashid Ali, 22, and Rafique Sadiq, 20, went out of their house when some unidentified people called them.

Ghaziabad police said 12-year-old Ali Raza of A-Block Faisal Town was gunned down by the watchman of a house near Ashfaq Chowk in Sili Town.

Accused Naseer Ahmad opened fire on the child when he was plucking mangoes along with his fellows from a tree situated in his master house.

Naseer was captured by passerby and handed over to the police.

Naseer told the police that he had resorted to aerial firing in an attempt to keep the child away from the mango tree. Police registered a case against the suspect on the complaint of child's father Muhammad Arif.

Tibbi City police said 65-year-old Bashir Ahmad was killed at his under-construction home in Thatti Mohalla Malahan after unidentified people attacked him with hammers and knives.

Tanveer Hussain, the victim's son, suspected involvement of a former union council nazim and his accomplices over a property dispute.

North Cantonment police said four people led by Pervaiz alias Sajjad shot dead 55-year-old Manzoor Hussain over a dispute on a rickshaw in Pir Naseer Chandian.

Manzoor, ex-army man, had refused to give his rickshaw on rent to Pervaiz.

Police registered a case against Pervaiz and his three unidentified accomplices on the complaint of the victim's son Mudassir Manzoor.
