QUETTA, May 15: Two people were arrested in Dhadar area on Sunday for their alleged involvement in attacks on tankers carrying oil for Nato forces in Afghanistan, officials said.

“Levies Force personnel signalled six people on three bikes to stop on the road linking Sibi to Bakhtiarabad but they opened fire,” Naib Tehsildar Balanari Mir Manzoor Ahmed Shahwani told reporters.

The Levies Force returned the fire and captured two of them, he said and identified the arrested suspects as Murad Ali and Rehmat.

The Levies Force also seized a Kalashnikov, a TT pistol, four bottles filled with explosive chemical and a motorcycle.  During interrogation, the arrested suspects said they used to attack and torch tankers carrying oil for Nato forces in Afghanistan.—Staff Correspondent
