LAHORE, May 15: Two women were slain by unidentified person(s) in a beauty parlour situated at Barkat Market of Garden Town on Sunday, police said.

Khadeeja Nazim, 35, and Ambreen, 25, of Nazim Beauty Parlour were spotted dead by a female visitor around 4:45pm with their throats slit open.

Model Town SP (Operations) Malik Muhammad Awais told Dawn that the police shifted the bodies to Jinnah Hospital’s morgue after collecting evidence.

He said the suspect(s) used sharp-edged weapons to kill Khadeeja, wife of Nazim Husain of Kamalia. They also killed sole witness Ambreen on resistance. The suspects cut Ambreen’s hair during resistance.

The SP said nobody in the market observed entry or exit of suspects in the parlour.

He said Nazim Husain, who also reached the spot after the incident, had been taken in protective custody for queries following reports that the couple had sour relations.

“Nazim’s first wife lives in Kamalia and he married Khadeeja five years ago. Ambreen was maternal niece of Nazim,” the SP said.

FOUND MURDERED: Shadman police recovered the body of a 55-year-old man from the quarter of a house and shifted it for autopsy on Sunday.

Police said Muhammad Nadir of Jhang, who was servant of Dr Bashir, was found murdered at his quarter while his hands and legs were tied. Police also found marks of bruises and cigarette burns on his body parts.

ACCIDENT: A motorcyclist, Mudassir of Shadaab Colony, was knocked down and killed by a speeding 16-wheeler trailer on Multan Road in front of Chuhng Police Training School on Sunday.
