KARACHI, Oct 21: Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro has called for undertaking every possible effort for protection of wildlife.

He was chairing a meeting of the Sindh Wild Life Board at the Governor’s House on Monday. The meeting approved the re- organization of the Board.

A statement said that the governor finalized various decisions in consultation with the participants of the meeting to reactivate the Board.

The Board, it was stated, has been entrusted with necessary powers, including the powers of appointments and transfers in the Wildlife Department. It will also play an active role towards development schemes.

Abdul Karim Lodhi was elected the first vice-chairman of the Board, which will elect its vice-chairman every year.

The meeting was attended by provincial minister Hassan Ali Chanhio, chief secretary K.B. Rind, principal secretary to the governor Brig Akhtar Zamin, secretary wildlife Shamsul Haq Memon and others.—APP
