LAHORE, May 9: Chaudhry Mohammad Yaqoob and Major (retd) Mohammad Afzal have been retained as president and secretary of the Pakistan Volleyball Federation for the next term of four years by the general council, which met here on Monday.

After being elected, PVF president Yaqoob informed the general body that Iranian coach Ali Moamary was likely to join the Pakistan team in July and hopefully the national team would sharp its skills under him to earn laurels for the country.

“Our ultimate objective is to qualify our team for next year’s world championship and world league, besides showing good results in Asian championship to be held later this year in Iran,” he said.

The house also elected Faisal Karim Kundi, deputy speaker of the National Assembly, as the patron of the PVF.

President: Chaudhry Mohammad Yaqoob.

Vice-presidents: Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmed, Abdul Khaliq Khan, Zafar Abbas Lak, and Allama Ghulam Hassan.

Secretary: Major (retd) Mohammad Afzal.

Treasurer: Mohammad Baksh Javed.

Joint secretary: Shoaib Ahmed Usmani.

Associate secretaries: Sardar Khan, Shahid Kamal.

Members of the Executive Committee: Iqbal Khan, Haji Ashraf, Mukhtar Ahmed Khan, Shahid Masood, Sohail Usmani, Khalid Waqar.
