The Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) on Friday named a five-member team for the second China Open boxing tournament being held in the Chinese city of Guyang from May 29 to June 3. The team has been selected on the basis of performance of the pugilists in the ongoing national camp in Islamabad, a PBF spokesman said.

He said 20 boxers were undergoing strenuous training in the national camp that has been in progress for the last two months.

The team leaves for China on May 27.

According to the PBF official, the remaining boxers will stay at the camp under the supervision of Olympian boxing coach Arshad.

Pakistan had to be content with a bronze in the inaugural edition of the event last year.

Squad: Mohammad Waseem (52kg), Qadir Khan (56kg), Sardar Mohammad (60kg), Amir Khan (64kg), Nisar Khan (75kg). Officials: Ali Bakhsh (coach), Syed Ashraf Ali (referee judge).
