GUJRANWALA, April 28: A woman and her 10 years old daughter were injured in what police described as a cracker blast on GT Road, opposite Iqbal high School, on Thursday evening.

Kaneez Fatima was riding a motorcycle along with her husband and daughter Tahira. As the two wheeler reached near the high school, the blast shook the entire area.

The woman and her daughter were rushed to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

Police and rescue personnel reached the spot soon after getting information.

KILLED:A proclaimed offender wanted in a number of cases of kidnap for ransom, extortion, dacoity and robbery was killed in an 'encounter' with police in Kamoke late on Wednesday night.

Police said a raiding team intercepted Rafiq alias Pheka Nai and his two accomplices near village Bharoki Virkan. Police said it opened fire in self-defence and killed Rafiq while his accomplices escaped.
