NAWABSHAH, April 23: The district experienced the hottest day of season on Saturday when mercury touched 45 degrees Celsius. A number of sunstroke cases were reported at various hospitals while business activities were also affected.

An official at local Met office said the maximum temperature recorded on Saturday was 45 C which may rise in coming days.

Doctors have advised the people to drink lot of water and avoid food being sold on stalls.

INJURED: Around seven people were injured in a clash between two groups in Sakrand on Saturday.

The clash erupted between Kubar and Chohan communities in Sakrand town over children’s issue.

Enraged youth of Chohan community burnt tyres and blocked the National Highway near bypass in protest against police refusal to register an FIR. The highway was blocked when the report was being filed.
