GUJRANWALA, April 14: CPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar got handcuffed four policemen, including a sub-inspector, for releasing four dacoits along with the looted goods after taking a heavy bribe from them here on Thursday.

The accused policemen were later produced before a judicial magistrate who sent them to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.

Reports said Sadhoki Munawar Shaheed police post in charge/sub- inspector Imran Sarwar intercepted a truck laden with copper pots. On being checked, the pots were found stolen and accused Usman, Shafiq, Sharafat and Latif were arrested. Later, the SI took Rs150,000 in bribe and released the accused along with the impounded truck.

Receiving information, the CPO summoned SI Sarwar along with constables Shaukat, Hafiz and Zulfikar in his office and got them handcuffed. He got a case registered against them with the Kamoki Sadder police station.

CLUE FOUND: The Baghbanpura police on Thursday claimed to have found a clue to the blind murder of a man and arrested his wife and her lover.
