Later, the SI took Rs150,000 in bribe and released the accused along with the impounded truck.

Receiving information, the CPO summoned SI Sarwar along with constables Shaukat, Hafiz and Zulfikar in his office and got them handcuffed. He got a case registered against them with the Kamoki Sadder police station.

CLUE FOUND: The Baghbanpura police on Thursday claimed to have found a clue to the blind murder of a man and arrested his wife and her lover.

SP Rai Ijaz Ahmad said that slain Muhammad Yasin had contracted marriage with Farida and was the father of three children.

Farida allegedly had relations with Farhan alias Haji which she continued after the marriage. The deceased forbade her wife and her lover when he came to know about their relations. But accused Farhan reportedly kidnapped him and threw his body into the Upper Chenab Canal after slaughtering him about a fortnight ago. The police had already recovered the body of the deceased.
