SARGODHA, April 14: The Punjab government on Thursday assigned the acting vice-chancellor charge of the University of Sargodha to a senior professor after a delay of 75 days.

According to a notification, Faculty of Science dean Prof Dr Muhammad Ali has been appointed as acting vice-chancellor till further orders.

Punjab Governor Latif Khosa (who is chancellor of the universities across the province) had issued orders on March 6 for the appointment of Dr Muhammad Ali, but the Punjab government did not comply with the orders.

However, the governor visited Sargodha two days back and assured the people that the acting VC would soon be appointed.
