LAHORE, April 12: A Lahore High Court division bench on Tuesday sought personal appearance of Federal Investigating Agency  Additional Director General Zafar Qureshi on April 19 in connection with the bail petition of Muhammad Maalick, manager of MPA Moonis Elahi, involved in opening of forged accounts for transferring misappropriated money of the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL).

Earlier Federal Investigating Agency officials produced record of the case, but the chief justice deferred proceedings on the bail matter observing that Mr Qureshi should be present in court as he was well aware of facts of the case.

The Federal Investigating Agency accused Maalick and others, including former federal minister Habibullah Warraich and his son Mohsin Warraich, of misappropriating NICL’s funds on account of land purchase.

Kamil: The Federal Investigating Agency despite using all sorts of tactics has ‘failed’ to find any proof against Moonis Elahi during his 14-day physical remand.

Kamil Ali Agha, information secretary of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q, said this on Tuesday.

He said FIA Additional Director Zafar Qureshi also failed in establishing Moonis’s alleged link with the NICL case.
