lol! This is funny, muslims in thier own countries have never even heard of the terms "woman's fundamental right" and "secularism". Similarly, imagine a French woman wearing a bikini at a Dubai beach!! Will she be allowed to protest against the UAE govt. for curbing her fundamental rights?? Hypocrisy at its best!

Because of these few dozen people who get all the attention of the media world wide billions of Muslims are viewed with same suspicions. First of all When these women go for Hajj etc they don't wear cover their faces so its more of their customs than religion therefore, Muslims countries to take lead in banning them. Secondly how many Muslims countries have Sharia ? and how many people actually want it ? I believe not many But if these few people want it for France they should get the first ever flight back to their countries instead.

The decision is human and rights violation. It is tension-proned and anti-cohesive. Such action will always prove counterproductive. It exhibits hyprocracy on the part of the champion of humanity because the decision conveys the message of "religious intolerance and negative impact on world efforts for inter-faith harmony". It is essential to revoke anti-veil act through an ordinance and formalize the same through parliamentary process. If this is correct then the French Government should also prohibit scarf worn by Christian women missionaries.

That exposed the open society of west or so called freedom of expression,when they can't even tolerate only 2thousand niqqabi Muslim women out of 5hundred thousand Muslims,living in France. Europe was a narrow society & Europe is,as their centuries old tradition of burning people over the cross,they now,find Muslims to attack.

This shows the spirit of Europeons who impose unfair and unjust restrictions on muslims while raising the slogans of freedom,this shows there inherent enmity towards the muslim community. As per Islam there is complete freedom for every religion and cast, everyone is free to observe his religious spirituals, while this gesture of the west will raise more and more hatred in the hearts of Muslims.

Here I want to clear the misconceptions in the minds of "Muslims" regarding the Islamic point of view of the full-face veil. There is no injunction in the Quran anywhere that women should cover their faces. The only advice is to cover their bosoms and other body contours so that their figures are not revealed in anyway. So in the light of holy Quran injunctions, the French government has done nothing un-Islamic by banning the full-face veil. The full-face veil is a cultural thing more common in Saudi Arabia which is a man's world. The full-face veil has nothing to do with Islam but has a lot to do with the oppression of women by singling them out as dangerous creatures being a source of temptation and the sole reason to embrace hell in the Afterlife.

Comments above by Najam and Sami are mind boggling, considerong what's happening in Pakistan, and the complete lack of freedom in countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran etc. In France, he law does not permit the police to touch a Muslim women's niqab or a single strand of her hair. Let's keep things in perspective.

The important thing to notice here is that - The impression that the full face covering is something that is imposed on women , has been proven wrong .......!! i believe this law is Hypocritical as every one has the right to be....!!

i am a muslim but i am surprised that how muslims in foreign non-Islamic countries are imposing that their governments or country practice the Shariah law. There are hardly any muslims maybe roughly 1 to 2% maximum in any European nation; if muslims do not like the laws of the foreign country why don't they go to their native muslim nation for example Saudi Arabia that is practicing Shariah Law. Live in their home country these women maybe more satisfied with the rules and regulations. In a non-muslim country how do you expect that they will abide by Islamic law, infact even in muslim countries with 99% muslims living there shariah law/Islamic law is really not being practiced at all.

What happening in France against Muslim women is very wrong they have right to spend their life according to their belief ,Government of France Should not interfere, They are not harmful for any body.

for me every country should allow to practise any religion as long its not harmful to society and if all any of our muslim sister wanted to wear the hijab they should be allowed.. that is totally against the fundamentals rights of any human being to against france new law..

I strongly believe that veil should also be banned in Pakistan. In 21st Century and specially in hot countries how women can survive when the popular texture for clothings in such countries is Lawn which is even thinner than cotton. Not only this, it will given women a confidence who are imposed burqa by their men (could be father, brother, husband etc.). Unfortunately so called mullas/molvies have brutally spoiled the true soul of Islam and we being Muslims have to be ashamed due to increasing terrorism in almost all Islamic countries.

Pakistan,its extremism,its religious extremism has nothing to do with religion, religious practices & its liberalism has nothing to do with liberty.You have liberals acting in-light moderators,are the real benificeries, supporting war against terrorism by transferring billions overseas.increase in violence has more to do with poverty & western interference in the region,with no regards to human life.As a results the wave of freedom against the western appointed puppets is clearly noticeable in recent months.Muslims migrating to west is for better opportunities & freedom in those countries but banning niqqab & changing law to victimize the tiny segment of the society,is a sign that society too is not what it claims.Don't know why Vatican are quite cz Islamic dressing is close to the dressing of nuns,but better at least in family life.for confused Pakistani Muslims,just dress the way you like but don't debate vainly over Islamic issues like scholars .
