Eight arrested

VEHARI, April 7: Police claimed on Thursday to have arrested eight gangsters involved in dozens of cases of murder, kidnapping and vehicle snatching in the Vehari district.

District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi told reporters the police had also recovered a coach, a car, 10 motorcycles and a large quantity of weapons from the arrested bandits.

He said the arrested bandits include Azhar of Qutabpur, Atif of Jahania, Shehzad of Gujranwala, Tajammul and Shabbir of Mian Channu and Nadeem of Mauza Mustafaabad.

He said accused Mustafeez and his other accomplices managed to escape.—Correspondent
