KARACHI, April 6: Hosts Iran convincingly won the first leg of bilateral snooker team series against Pakistan which concluded at Tehran the other day.

According to results available here on Wednesday, the hosts accumulated 25 points as against eight secured by the visitors.

Though reigning Asian champion Mohammad Sajjad won nine of the 15 matches, yet he could not steer his team to success.

The two other members of the team, Imran Shahzad and Shahid Aftab could only won five matches apiece out of their stipulated 15.

Meanwhile, Pakistan team arrived here from Tehran on Wednesday after a weeklong trip.

Pakistan will play host to Iran sometime next year.
