KARACHI, Oct 14: Syed Shakir Ali, a candidate of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, has been declared successful from PS-112 by the returning officer.

Earlier, Qazi Khalid Ali and Shoaib Bokhari appeared before the RO, Zameer Ahmed Tunio, and contended that Syed Shakir Ali secured 377 votes from the polling station 31, whereas only three votes were showed as polled by him.

The RO, after examining the discrepancy and re-totalling the votes secured by Syed Shakir Ali, declared him winner from PS-112. A large number of party activists present outside the court congratulated MQM leaders Dr Farooq Sattar, Nasreen Jalil, Qazi Khalid and Shoaib Bokhari.—APP
