QUETTA, April 1: Four bogies of the Peshawar-bound Quetta Express derailed after a bomb explosion on the railway track near Dera Allahyar on Friday night.

Railway traffic between Quetta and other parts of the country was suspended.

According to official sources, a potion of the track was blown up when the train was passing through the Sim-Shakh area.

They said unknown attackers shot at the train after the explosion and security personnel travelling with the Quetta Express returned fire. A heavy exchange of fire continued for over 15 minutes.

“No casualty was reported,” an officer in Dera Allahyar said.
