LAHORE: Defending champions Wapda faced a shock exit from the National Volleyball Championship after a five-set loss against Pakistan Air Force on Wednesday.

Pakistan Air Force (PAF) will meet Pakistan Army, who beat Navy in the first semi-final, in Thursday’s final at the Wapda Sports Complex in Lahore.

PAF came back from a set down to go 2-1 up before the outgoing champions got back on level terms and took the match into a fifth-set decider. The match, which lasted an hour and 57 minutes, ended with a 18-25, 25-21, 25-19, 13-25, 15-13 score-line.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Army were also involved in a five-setter as they faced Navy in the first semi-final and won the tie 25-13, 23-25, 25-18, 19-25, 15-11.
