PESHAWAR, March 23: Local activists of Ahle-Sunnat Wal Jamaat on Wednesday held a protest demonstration here at Sher Shah Suri Road against Florida pastor Terry Jones, who supervised the burning of the holy Quran in America on Sunday last.

The protestors were led by former MPA Hakeem Mohammad Ibrahim, Allama Taj Mohammad, Haji Syed Rehman and Haji Mohammad Tariq. Holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the Zionist forces, the protesters shouted slogans in favour of Khilafat-i-Rashida.

On this occasion, the speakers said that following their defeat in Iraq the Zionist forces were openly committing blasphemous acts under the supervision of the US administration and the Pope.

They said that the US government was patronising those who published blasphemous cartoons of the holy Prophet in the recent past.

The Ahle Sunaat leaders suggested that the Islamic countries should quit the United Nations if they were unable to stop such acts.—Bureau Report
