MINGORA, March 22: Six militants were killed and two security men received injuries in exchange for fire in Kabal tehsil of Swat district on Tuesday, sources said.

They said that security forces on a tip-off besieged militants in the mountains of Kabal tehsil on late Monday night when they were trying to sneak into Swat from the adjoining Dir district.

The besieged militants were asked to surrender but they opened firing on security forces and injured two soldiers, sources said. They added that security killed all of six militants in retaliatory firing. The bodies of three of killed militants were handed over to their relatives while the identity of three others was yet to be established.

The first incident took place in Paraow area of lower Kurram when gunmen stopped a Peshawar-bound passenger coach and kidnapped four persons including driver of the vehicle. One of the kidnapped persons was identified as Alamdar Hussain son Ali Hussain, a resident of Parachinar.

Separately, 20 persons were kidnapped from Talo Kunj village when armed men stormed a makeshift market. — Dawn Report
