LAHORE: After one year of winning the 11th South Asian Games, an amount of Rs1.6 million, announced by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, was distributed among the members of the Pakistan Whites hockey team here on Tuesday.

Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, minister for education in Punjab, distributed cash awards among the players and officials.

Also present on the occasion were PHF president Qasim Zia, secretary Asif Bajwa, treasurer Khalid Iqbal, Punjab Hockey Association secretary Rana Mujahid Ali, Khawaja Zakauddin, Arshad Ali Chaudhary, Khawaja Junaid and Anjum Saeed.

Following players and officials of the team were awarded:

Players: Khalid Bhatti, Imran Butt, Khurram Majeed, Aamir Shehzad, Kashif Javaid, Zeeshan Ali, Saleem Nazim, Tasawwar Abbas, Abdul Ghaffar, Waqas Akbar, Mohammad Naghman, Abdul Qayyum Dogar, Mohammad Waqas, Abdul Khaliq and Mohsin Bilal.

Officials: Mohammad Akhlaq, Danish Kaleem, Mohammad Shahbaz Junior and Dr Asad Abbas.
