THATTA, March 19: Local PPP leader Syed Masood Mustafa Shah died of cardiac arrest in Karachi on Saturday. He was 34.

He leaves behind wife and a son. He will be laid to rest in Karachi on Sunday.

Masood Mustafa was the grandson of late Dr Ghulam Mustafa Shah, a distinguished scholar, former vice-chancellor of the University of Sindh and former federal education minister.

Son of Thatta-based industrialist Rafique Mustafa Shah, Masood Mustafa served as district president of Thatta PPP in 2003-04.

He also contested general election for provincial assembly from PS-86 Sujawal in 2008, but could not succeed.

According to Rafiq Mustafa, Masood Mustafa did his BBA from IBA Karachi and MBA from Chicago University and was awarded a gold medal there.

DADU, March 19: Police recovered a body bearing torture marks from Aral Wah in Sehwan on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Saleem Chandio, son of Abdul Karim of Mehar town.—Correspondent
