KASUR, March 19: Pattoki's Sadar police on Saturday booked three students of the Government College and 200 unidentified people for injuring an assistant sub-inspector, ransacking a police van and blocking Multan Road during a protest against the arrest of a student allegedly involved in a house robbery.

Sarai Mughal police arrested Muhammad Islam, a student of the Government College, for an alleged robbery. Some students reached the police station to get Islam released, but the police refused. Later, hundreds of students blocked Multan Road Bypass in Pattoki's Sadar police precincts, burnt tyres and raised slogans against the police for arresting Islam.

Sadar police reached the scene to disperse the students. Police used batons and teargas when the students refused to disperse. A clash ensued and ASI Mohsin Ali of Sadar Police Station was injured. The students ransacked police vans, pelted policemen with stones and made them leave the scene.
