MIRPURKHAS, March 17: The dreaded bandit Kaaloo Rind and his five accomplices were gunned down in an encounter near Mir Mohammad Magsi Village in Sanghar district on Thursday.

Anwar Dahiri, a guard of the District Police Officer, Abdullah Shaikh, was injured.

The encounter took place when police besieged a hideout of the bandits near the village on information that the bandits were there along with Ameer Bux Dhayo, who had been kidnapped by them a couple of days ago.

The bandits opened fire on the police personnel who fired back, killing Kaaloo Rind, Sheedo Abro, Mumtaz Magsi,

Dilbar Bhattti and two others and injuring one bandit who was arrested.

The injured guard was first taken to a nearby medical centre and later shifted to the LUMHS in Jamshoro when his condition deteriorated. According to the DPO, four rifles, four SMGs, two official SMGs, three double-barrel guns, two hand grenades and thousands of bullets were seized during the operation. The kidnapped man, Ameer Bux Dhayo, was recovered safely.
