KARACHI: Four cars, 14 bikes hijacked

KARACHI, Oct 11: Eighteen vehicles — four cars and 14 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Friday.

Two cars were hijacked and two others were stolen in Malir City, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, North Nazimabad and Aziz Bhatti, police said.

Nine motorcycles were hijacked. Five others were stolen. The motorcycles were hijacked/ stolen in Brigade, Orangi Extension, Brigade, Chakiwara, Azizabad, Shah Faisal Colony, Jamshed Quarters, Mehmoodabad, Mubina Town, Aziz Bhatti, Joharabad, Soldier Bazaar and Preedy police limits.

Police also claimed on Friday to have recovered three vehicles in the city.

WOUNDED: A young man was shot and wounded in Lyari on Friday evening.

Sources at Civil Hospital said Hanif, aged 25, was brought to the hospital with a bullet wound from Baghdadi area.

Police said Civil Hospital authorities informed them of the incident.

DIES OF BURNS: A young man died of burns at Civil Hospital on Friday.

Sources at the hospital said Akramullah, aged 35, had suffered burns on September 20 in Korangi Industrial Area.

He was admitted to the burns ward of Civil Hospital where he died.
