KARACHI, Oct 8: Karachi Nazim Naimatullah Khan has said that those nations which do not pay attention to education, cannot progress.

He said the city government during the 13 months of its establishment added eight new colleges besides completing the incomplete school buildings.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the Government Boys Degree College.

“A society where education is not universalised, will not progress”, the Nazim said and added that one reason for slow progress of the country was that our educational ration was much low and we would have to focus on education if we want to progress.

Naimatullah Khan pointed out that the city government’s most attention had remained on education. He said when he took over, many of the educational buildings were devoid of doors and windows. There were no bathrooms and even many class rooms were without roof.

“During one year we tried to create a better educational environment and this has been created”.

He said more colleges would be added next year.

PARKS: Karachi Nazim Naimatullah Khan on Tuesday inaugurated the development projects of three parks and construction of a fountain in North Karachi Town.

Speaking on the occasion, he said North Karachi Town was speedily progressing towards the provision of better living standards for its inhabitants. He lauded the performance of Town Nazim Shafiqur Rehman Usmani and his team in this regard.

The Town administration briefed the City Nazim on various development projects and said a model park was developed in Sector 11/A, Akhuwwat Park in Sector 11/B, Children’s Park in Sector 11/C-1 and a Golden Fountain near the UP roundabout.
