ISLAMABAD, Feb 24: Police recovered the remains of a youth, who went missing over two months back, from Shakar-parian here on Thursday. The victim's skull, arms and leg bones, jaw and hair were found scattered in the wooded area behind Lok Virsa. On the information extracted from the arrested accused, the Aabpara police had started combing the area three days back.

The police later shifted the body parts to Federal Government Services Hospital's medico legal department for DNA test. Kamran Ali Khan, 19, went missing on December 20 after leaving his G-6/1-2 house on a motorcycle.

On the complaint of his mother Mehnaz Nasreen, who works with the AGPR, the Aabpara police arrested the victim's girlfriend Maira Maryam, 18, his cousin Umair Ali Khan and his two friends Mohammad Latif and Mohammad Hasnat. During interrogation, the accused confessed to murdering Kamran.

Police said Maira planned to kill Kamran when instead of returning her love he introduced her to his cousin Umair. Infuriated to no end, she plotted to take revenge and used Umair, who also developed friendship with her, to eliminate Kamran. The jolted girl also took snaps of Kamran when Umair and his friends were beating him with bats and splitting his wrist with a dagger.

The police said they had also recovered the photographs from the cellphones and computers of the alleged killers.

After the incident, Umair twice tried to commit suicide. First, he tried to kill himself when the police registered the kidnapping case in his house.

However, he was saved by his friends who are his alleged accomplices in the crime.

Later, he tried to hang himself in the police lock-ups but again his friends informed the police who rescued him and took him to hospital.
