SUKKUR, Oct 6: Over 150 Railway policemen of Sukkur, Rahimyar Khan and other districts besieged a colony near the Sukkur Railway Station on Sunday and disconnected power connections of over 100 houses.

Officials said the colony was built on Railway land and Hesco had provided the electricity connections without the permission of Railway authorities.

The residents threatened if the power was not restored, they would stage a sit-in at the Rohri Railway Station and would not allow trains to pass.

However, the police cordon was still continuing in the colony where hundreds of people had assembled to launch a protest.
